There's a big Massachusetts Senate election coming up in less than a week, #mapoli fans. On April 12, voters in the First Suffolk & Middlesex district—which runs from Revere to Chinatown to Cambridge, and also includes Winthrop, East Boston, and Boston's downtown core—will pick a Democrat to succeed Anthony Petruccelli, who's leaving the Senate to become a lobbyist. (There's no Republican running.)
The Scrum asked all seven candidates to come in for a sort of political speed-dating session. Five of them were able to make it—and the conversation that followed was surprisingly fruitful, despite a gaffe or two from the moderator (i.e., Scrum host Adam Reilly). Have a listen! And as always, feel free to let us know what you think.
