A Jane Swift refresher:

Swift  became the first female Governor of Massachusetts in 2001, when Governor Paul Cellucci left the position to become U.S. Ambassador to Canada. At the time, she was the nation's youngest governor, but she had more than a dozen years of experience in politics. She had been Lieutenant Governor since 1999, and before that she was a State Senator. Swift left Massachusetts politics in 2003, when Mitt Romney stepped onto the scene, and has since stayed out of the political spotlight.

She's now the CEO of Middlebury Interactive Languages, and she joined The Scrum podcast this week from a studio at Middlebury College in Vermont.

David Bernstein and Adam Reilly spoke with Swift (6:50) about a possible Romney run for president in 2016 (16:05); why ladies seem to love (or at least like) Charlie Baker (08:05); whether the national GOP has drifted too far to the right (19:30); inoculating against the three H's (hair, hemlines and husbands)(24:00); and the legacy of the late Governor Paul Cellucci.

The Scrum is a weekly politics podcast that takes a closer look at who and what appear on your ballot. If you like what you hear from The Scrum, subscribe to the podcast in iTunes.
