EMILY's List packs a political punch. The group, devoted to fundraising for Democratic pro-choice women, has a network of more than 3 million members and has raised more than $26 million this election cycle for their candidates, according to NPR.
EMILY's List president Stephanie Schriock was in Boston today, so we asked her to stop by the Scrum studio and talk about the strategy behind the influential PAC. Schriock explained why EMILY's List endorsed Martha Coakley rather than Juliette Kayyem early in the Mass. Governor's race; considered-- and then rejected-- Adam Reilly's suggestion that Hillary Clinton has "evolved" on the issue of abortion; and eased ecstatic about campaigning against former Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown.
The Scrum also got a visit from Heather Foley, a.k.a. @Hotelfoxtrot, who explained how she aced her predictions for the recent Massachusetts primary elections in our Primary Challenge.
