This weeks episode of The Scrum features a debate with all four candidates running for Suffolk County Register of Deeds, moderated by Adam Reilly and Mike Deehan, WGBH News’s State House correspondent. As far as we know, this is the first time that the four contenders—Democrat Steve Murphy and independents Joe Donnelly, John Keith, and Margherita Ciampa-Coyne—have agreed to meet up and square off. The register’s job is pretty esoteric—basically, she or he keeps a record of public documents for real-estate transactions in Suffolk County. But given the dearth of competitive races here in Massachusetts this year, this may actually be the hottest race in the state right now.
